The Ophthalmology Times® EyeCon 2021 is not to be missed!
Impaired vision is a common disorder in the United States, with an estimated 12 million Americans aged 40 and older living with reduced vision. The number of Americans with impaired vision or blindness is predicted to soar in coming decades as a
result of age and chronic diseases, including diabetes. However, the nation's 19,000 ophthalmologists have access to a growing armamentarium of medications—with innovative delivery approaches—and state-of-the-art diagnostic and surgical
technologies.
Chaired by Peter J. McDonnell, MD, director of the Wilmer Eye Institute, and Texas-based glaucoma specialist Oluwatosin U. Smith, MD, the Ophthalmology Times® EyeCon 2021 will bring together the nation’s top ophthalmology experts to share new
data and clinical insight with learners who wish to deploy the most current processes and therapies for patients. Topics at the 2-day conference will include investigational and newly approved therapies for geographic atrophy, neovascular
age-related macular degeneration, thyroid eye disease, and neuromyelitis optica spectrum disease; sustained drug delivery and minimally invasive surgery for glaucoma; advances in cataract and refractive surgery; gene therapy for retinal disease
and other ocular conditions; and the latest strategies for managing common concerns, including uveitis, presbyopia, and dry eye disease.
